I grew up surrounded by machine knitting, hand knitting, and sewing. I was swathed in handmade clothes that lasted through all four of my siblings and I. I learned so much, but I didn’t realize how uncommon that was until I grew up. After my son was born I was so short on time that I couldn’t make many items for us like I had in the past. It really hit home how uncommon it is to find high quality clothing that uses heritage materials and techniques. These techniques and materials make clothing that will last for years and perform wonderfully. Plus it reduces our environmental impact and is super eco friendly.

I started Homespun Knits to share these eco-friendly heritage techniques and materials with a wider audience. Everything we make is focused on being beautiful, wearable, and made of materials that are good for you. That’s why we use materials such as 100% wool (non-superwash) that is made sustainably in the USA and OEKO-TEX certified cotton.

To us heritage quality means that every item is hand crafted and made to last. Our knits are not fast fashion or disposable. You are purchasing knits that aren’t coated in chemicals unnecessarily and last for years, which ultimately is better for you, good for the environment, and saves you money.
